1. Track pollen counts daily. Most local news and radio stations will report pollen counts during peak pollen season. You can also go online to websites such as Pollen.com, The Weather Channel or AAAAIs National Allergy Board. You may even be able to find software you can download to your desktop (such as WeatherBug) that will help you track pollen counts for your area or anywhere else you may travel.
2. Stay indoors during peak pollen times. Pollen counts tend to be highest during the morning hours, so try to go outside only in the afternoons or evenings. Pollen counts are also highest on dry, windy days, so stay indoors as much as you can on days like that.

3. On hot days, stay indoors in the air conditioning, rather than having windows open. This also applies to car travel; keep windows up and the air conditioning on. These measures will reduce your exposure to outside air that may have high levels of pollen spores. The filter in the air conditioner may further screen out some of the pollen, by cleaning, cooling and drying the air.

4. If vacationing during pollen season, shoot for low-pollen areas such as the beach.

5. Avoid freshly cut grass. Dont mow the lawn, or walk through freshly cut grass. If you must mow, then wear a mask with a HEPA filter that can reduce some of your pollen exposure. When youre done mowing, take a shower and shampoo to remove any pollen and change to fresh clothes.

6. Dont hang clothing outdoors to dry. Clothes or linens hanging outside can collect pollen spores. Its better to use a clothes dryer, especially during times when pollen counts are high.

Whenever I try to put my contacts in in the morning, they either cloud up or wont go in due to excessive slime in my eyes. If I manage to wipe the slime out, my eyes look very red for the rest of the day. I know this is caused by eye allergies (though I havent been tested for allergies) as Ive had this problem since I got contacts three years ago. (and I cant think of anything else that would cause this) Is there any sort of eye drops that help with this? Ive tried several allergy medicines (benadryl, claritin, even prescription clarinex, and some generic brands) and none have helped so far. I dislike glasses (partly out of vanity, Ill admit) and right now I cant afford to buy glasses in my eye prescription anyways. Anything I can do? its taken me up to half an hour to get my contacts in before, and Im getting irritated.

It happens in the spring time mainly and i sneeze a lot and have a runny nose and irritated eyes. Nothing seems to work. I tried the shots for about 3 years and i gave it up because i had to go back each year for new testing. I just thought it was a money pit. So now im back to experimenting with the new oral meds like clarinex, zyrtec, claritin and others but nothing seems to help. Definetly far from a cure. I keep my house clean and try to avoid the outdoors but i work outdoors and it is impossible for me to avoid it. So I suffer greatly in the spring.

Allergy needs proper treatment and medical diagnosis. But most importantly, allergy which is caused due to dust and pollution can be treatment by way of avoiding and thus taking precautions toward it. It is basically recommended to stay far away from those things which produce allergies. I myself would like to sate here that I m prone to catch allergy due to dust, so I better prevent myself to the explosion of dust than to suffer from the consequence of it. Thus prevention works better than cure in respect of allergy. But sometimes when allergy becomes very acute, proper treatment should be meted out to overcome it. Before providing the basic treatment to the allergy patient, the root causes of it should be firstly diagnosed. So for this purpose, a proper skin test should be conducted over the patient suffering from allergy. Through this process the basic cause behind the occurrence of allergy can be sorted out and on the basis of it the right treatment could be meted out to them.

Clarinex is a medication which can be taken year-round by those who suffer from allergies. It is also effective at treating those who suffer from hives or rashes. The active ingredient in this medication is desloratadine, which is an antihistamine. This blocks the immune system's production of the natural chemical histamine, which is produced when the body becomes sensitive to something.

Clarinex is effective at treating allergy symptoms produced from contact to both indoor allergens and outdoor ones. Anything from dust mites, pet dander, and mold spores, to pollen, grass or weeds can cause allergies.

Clarinex is widely used and popular because of its non-drowsy characteristic. Many antihistamines tell users to avoid machinery or driving while taking it, but Clarinex does not. This drug was also the first to boast that grapefruit juice did not affect its absorption.

It is also safe for most people who suffer form asthma to use this medication, although it is recommended that one contacts their doctor before mixing medications of any kind. Reported side effects include dry mouth, fatigue and a sore throat.

This medication comes in many forms which are taken according to age group, severity of symptoms, and other factors. The regular Clarinex tablets relieve symptoms for up to 24 hours and are safe for ages 12 and up. Clarinex 24-hour combines the power of antihistamine and decongestant for people with seasonal rhinitis and congestion. Children as young as 6 months of age can receive relief from indoor allergies, while children 2 and over can experience relief from outdoor ones, with the bubblegum flavored Clarinex syrup.

The syrup formula can also reduce the appearance of hives in children. Because many people are unable to easily take pills or tablets, Clarinex has provided a solution. For those who need another method, Clarinex Redi-tabs melt easily in the mouth. These also provide 24-hour relief and come in a fruit flavor.

The makers of Clarinex, Shering-Plough, claim that taking this medication in the morning will relieve symptoms all the way into the next morning when one awakes. This is a benefit, since many 24-hour solutions seem to wear off while one is sleeping.
Clarinex-D is a stronger formula which does require a prescription.

This also claims to have 24-hour relief all the way through to the next day. This member of the Clarinex family is for moderate to severe allergy sufferers.

When you come into contact with something you're allergic to, a chain reaction begins inside your body. During this chain reaction, special cells release powerful chemicals. Some of these chemicals can trigger swelling of the nasal passages, leading to nasal congestion (a "stuffy" nose). Other chemicals, such as histamine, can cause sneezing, itching, and irritation.

Classics is no Kindle, but the interface is pretty visual (read visually pretty), and the books were specifically formatted for the Apple products. The app includes 11 novels (some complete with illustrations), a customizable bookshelf, page turning visuals, and a bookmark.
